But not on Expression Pro... Ahhh, there it is. 4 hours and 50 minutes to download. Maybe I'll get luck and it will get done before I leave work... Damn - the transfer rate bounces around between 100-200 KB/sec, spending most of its time below 150 - the tie is now over 5 hours

You might go back and try an Alternet Download site. I just did and it is between 40 minutes and 1:10 while my other (which both are downloading it) is at 17 hrs.

Go back to the Sbuscription Home and try an alternate download site. Mine is ripping through in comparison (40 minues to 1:10). It uses a different download manager though.

There is not "alternative download site" on the expression pro download page. Epression Pro isn't technically considered a MSDN subscription (according to a MSDN rep).

Hmm, it started at 400 KB/s (KByte, not Kbit). Now it's running at 300 KB/s. 2 hours to go.

BTW, the Expression Pro site doesn't use a download manager - it's just a straight up download...

I prefer it that way. I don't need Microsoft to manage any more of my electronic life than it already does.

That's just the installer, which will download the packages as it needs them. Are you due any vacation time?
