"Amero" coins aren't real. They are a parody created by someone as a joke. It has been debunked by numerous sources, including the ever-helpful Snopes.com, who say: On 31 August 2007, radio host Hal Turner used images of the Amero tokens offered by Designs Computed as the basis for propagating a patently false tale about his having been given a "real" Amero coin on the sly by an anonymous Treasury agent, and that the existence of said coin was "proof" that the USA, Canada, and Mexico were "to be merged into a single new entity" known as the North American Union. After we (and others) debunked Turner's fictional, outrage-provoking conspiracy theory by pointing out the true origin of the Amero tokens, he began claiming that the Designs Computed site had been hastily erected on the Internet as part of "a full blown effort to discredit my story and the images as fake." That was not the case: Daniel Carr, the entrepreneur behind Designs Computed, has been displaying the coins he has designed on his web site since at least 2000 and has been offering some of them for sale since at least 2005. While his "Amero" entry dates only to 2007, the coins depicted thereon fit seamlessly into his catalogue of similar offerings, including his "parody State Quarters." http://www.snopes.com/politics/business/amerocoin.asp[^] I've never been able to decide why it is that so many radio people fail to check their facts before broadcasting. Maybe ratings are more important than the truth; or maybe it's just brain damage from sitting under a high voltage radio transmitter all day... Anyway... "Amero" notes are also pure fiction. From wikipedia: these images [of the Amero notes] are art from the Flickr user aleatorysort,[2] who created them as an artistic political commentary. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/North_American_currency_union#Amero_bills[^] So to summarise, the "Amero" thing is a mildly amusing story, but a story is all it is.

Its only a "conspiracy that the nutters howl at the moon with" only if they find out that people hate the idea and won't accept it. Instead of taking responsibility for it, they discredit their own ideas by saying it was the psychopaths that thought of it. Sadly, this doesn't work anymore. Most people who are informed and intelligent know about their plans for a NAU and a currency to go along with it, its in government documents, however, it is unlikely to ever be successful in anyway because Americans wont take part in it. That is why they need the illegals to get welfare and vote, but I doubt Americans will allow that either.
