When you are fully enjoying CP, contributing to CP to the extent of your abilities from a spontaneous and warm-hearted desire to share ideas and code that excite you, when you are finding friends and, at times, critics you listen to, on CP, when you give to CP as much you take from it in your own way ... and when how people vote your messages, or how many posts you have made, or what level of "metal" you have reached is completely unimportant to you ... when whether you are "guru" or "newbie" means nothing to you ... And some spark of genius and/or imagination shows in what you contribute ... That is Gold. best, Bill p.s. all of the above is why I am at the level of "lead" :)

Surely that is only a theoretical level, achievable only in special circumstances under laboratory conditions?

You can't turn lead into gold, unless you've built yourself a nuclear plant.

Maunderite is at the bottom? I hope that list got inverted somehow. :)

Membership status calculated as follows: 1-4 articles posted = Bronze. 5-14 articles = Silver. 15-24 articles = Gold. 25+ articles = Platinum. Each 500 messages posted adds one level, and if a member has posted a message then each year of membership adds 1 level until the member hits Silver. Bronze is awarded at the beginning of the first 500 messages posted instead of the end.
- S 50 cups of coffee and you know it's on! Code, follow, or get out of the way.
So 2 years membership and 500 messages posted should do then.

Don't know, seems like I have always been gold, which is (in my case) utterly undeserved given my poor contribution here. So I would not take the ranking too seriously...

IIRC the wording is poor and years of membership don't count towards earning gold; only message/article points count for it. Also status is only updated once a week (over the weekend); with the messages you've posted this week and the article you've written I think you'll go gold Saturday or Sunday.
