Zune HD Preview[^] From the WinInfo UPDATE: It boasts a 16:9 OLED display with 480 x 272 native resolution, multi-touch capabilities, and HD 720p output via HDMI. It includes support for HD Radio in addition to the FM radio support provided by previous devices. Zune Pass subscribers can stream millions of songs from the Zune Marketplace to the device over a standard Wi-Fi connection. And the Zune HD includes a full-featured web browser with a touchscreen QWERTY keyboard. This is now available for pre-order and is a lot less expensive than the iPod touch: The 16 GB Zune HD, available in black, costs just $220, compared to $300 for a 16 GB iPod touch. And the 32 GB Zune HD, available in platinum, costs just $290, a whopping $110 less than the $400 selling price of the 32 GB iPod touch.

Unfortunately irrelevant to most of us unless MS expand the availability of the Zune beyond North America...

Java, Basic, who cares - it's all a bunch of tree-hugging hippy cr*p

Meh - Another "me too" product from a company that can't seem to innovate. I give it 12-18 months and they'll kill the whole Zune product line.

eh so if Apple releases a touch screen PMP nobody else can do it? Admittedly Microsoft has been playing catchup in this arena, but this one actually looks pretty good. Show me another player that has OLED, 720p support and HDMI output. The Tegra chipset is supposedly pretty awesome too. If this works as well as it looks, they deserve some credit for it.

That's just hardware specs - they also need to include quality software, a robust app store, consistent marketing & great customer support. This is where Microsoft will fail. IMO - The Zune product line will remain unprofitable and be scrapped due to poor market share. Just a prediction... sheesh!

Yes, but the issue is with an iPod touch I'm able to access Apple store easily and buy hundreds of thousands of $0.99 apps with the touch of a button. Does Zune offer the same or better?

No but you get a portable high def porn player. I mean you can put your downloaded porn on your zune HD and then plug that right into any TV. You have to admit, that is a big selling point for this thing.
