What's Not in Weven Means It's Not Heaven

Here's a list of widgets I run under XP. If Weven had half the features they provide then I'd think about the upgrade. AFAIK they all run on Weven, but I have to buy Weven, M$ offers no freebies down here. The so called AUS/USA-FTA means SFA in this regard.
p/w Actual Title Buttons (adds stay on top, roll up, minimize to tray etc buttons to title bar) p/w ShellToys (explorer context menu enhancements) p/w xPlorer2 (2 pane file explorer) f/w Flux (adjusts monitor contrast according to time of day) f/w Locate32 (quick file finder) f/w Stickies (post it notes) f/w Bug Shooting (screen capture & post) f/w Wizmouse - see below f/w Unlocker Assistant - tells you what process has locked a file, and option to unlock it.
p/w = payware; f/w = freeware Wizmouse is a recent find, I'd been looking for it for years. It makes the mouse wheel scroll the window that's UNDER the mouse pointer, even if its not active!! Normal behaviour is to scroll the active window, irrespective of where the mouse is pointing. It's invaluable if you use multiple tab groups in VS, or you just want to scroll your browser sidebar. Its small (5K), it does nothing else - which means its finished, it's free and its from NZ - which means it's organic, fair trade, non polluting and carbon free. What widgets do you use ? Waiting for a rebuild, coffee shop's closed on Sundays - boo, hiss!!

Wordweb - dictionary cum thesaurus. Taskbar shuffle - for rearranging windows in the taskbar. Scite - all-purpose text editor, even allows you to build/run source files. SequoiaView - tree view of your partition or any folder in it. Process Explorer - need I say anything at all? Slickrun - app launcher, allows you to bind commands to apps (eg: ff will launch Firefox, scite will launch Scite):cool:

WordWeb, then you might like The Sage, more academic with botanical names etc, and it does anagrams, no web links tho', But I would not expect to find these in the OS, Office maybe, I run both Shelltoys does some of what TB Shuffle does & a lot more, but its not free Scite, I use Notepad++, but I wouldn't expect an OS to deliver what's essentially a programmers tool Process Explorer - of course, AutoRuns, FileMon, DiskMon etc too

FWIW, Win 7 allows you to rearrange items in the taskbar. I like it :)

While Windows 7 seems to have got generally positive reviews, I don't want to spend a lot of money on what should have been a Vista service pack.

Excellent! I've been using Xplorer2 for years (since the 2x explorer days); it's completely indispensable, going far beyond what any other file manager can do. F.lux and Wizmouse are new to me, though! Shiny!!! I'd add: KO Approach: Can't live without it, now. Winroll: The only thing from the Mac that I missed; it rolls up windows to the titlebar. Handyfind: Instant, cumulative text location in many Windows apps (Office/IE/etc.) Iconoid: For that "clean desktop" feel.

ActualTitleButtons does winroll, stay on top etc for me. I cant live without stay on top. ATB was the only one that I could find that did not have undesirable effects. I forgot to mention FileMenu Tools (FMT), adds some handy shell extensions like copy name, copy path, overlaps with x2 & shelltoys, probably wouldn't have latter if I'd found FMT sooner.
