Fiji sucks

No, I am kidding. We stayed in an over water bure, which means we walked down a ladder to swim in the pacific. The food was all paid for, so we'd just show up and order from the menu. We only had 3 days, but it was very relaxing and we had a wonderful time. It was $1800 a day, but it was well worth it. I even still feel relaxed after reading my mail this morning....

What sort of hourly rate did you have to charge to fund a trip that expensive? :omg:
The latest nation. Procrastination.

Well, things actually cost more because of the cost of shipping it all there, but we also stayed in one of the more expensive resorts. The food was five star, the service was excellent, we had a room on the water, with a ladder into the ocean, etc. That's one reason we stayed so briefly, rather than stay a longer time in somewhere cheaper. Our first night was somewhere cheap, and it was nice enough, the people were nice, but the food was REALLY average.

Mauritius is a also great destination to visit, and not so expensive. Sun, sand and sea all around. Seven days and six nights at around $600 (Five star acco). Accommodation on twin-sharing basis. Breakfast and dinner included. Airfare extra.

So, I got to share my twin? :( Seriously, what's twin sharing?

Means two persons per (double) room. If you don't like this, pay $1200 and you have the entire room for yourself.

Is that USD, and is the figure per night or the whole week? BTW, where in India are you?
Cheers, Vikram. (Proud to have finally cracked a CCC!)

Yes - it is USD - figure is for the entire week; rather 6 nights, 7 days. I am in Bangalore. The flight goes from Bangalore to Chennai, and then on to Mauritius; return trip is direct from Mauritius to Bangalore (then on to Chennai). Departure every Tuesday morning, return next Tuesday morning. Sorry for not replying earlier - your mail had gone into my spam folder, and I saw it today.

Nice, thanks, might take a trip in the next year or two.
Cheers, Vikram. (Cracked not one CCC, but two!)
