In case you weren't sarcastic: Go to 'my settings' (at the top of the page) Tab 'Newsletters' And check the 'The Insider Daily Industry and Insider news to keep you up to date' Don't forget to click the 'save settings' button Then you should get a daily newsletter around 8am your time (Spain)

Yes, if you have subscribed for CP Newsletters(The Insider). This is just an example. You can notice this(Anti-Microsoftism) in many forums and discussions.

CP is an MS centric site, most people/news is negative and you are looking at a new letter, do the math, what did you expect. If you got only blatantly positive news you would suspect collusion (WHO is YOUR sponsor) from CP and discount any information (or is my foil beanie showing). Besides most of us use those tools, we know they suck. We still use them, the alternative is to chop out x% of your market and use a *nix platform.

The Daily Insider is not anti-Microsoft. It's certainly not "Yay, Microsoft rock!" but it has no agenda other than to pick the most important (or potentially interesting) news items of any given day so that within 5 minutes you're up to date on what's happening. The tone can definitely be a little sceptical and sometimes cynical, but then we've all been working in this industry for a long, long time now and if we can't poke a little fun at the marketing types then who can?

Why most of the News in CodeProject Daily News are Anti-Microsoft? Is this only because Microsoft charge for everything they develop?
Mycroft and Chris have it on the nose. I try to be an "equal opportunity cynic" in the newsletter. I've been accused of being anti-Microsoft, anti-Google, anti-JavaScript (OK, that one is true), anti-Open Source, anti-Free Market, and probably a few more antis I'm forgetting now. As Chris said, the objective is not to cheer or jeer, but to bring you hopefully interesting items, with a non-marketing slant. As most of the items are about Microsoft (sometimes too many), it may seem that it's weighted against Microsoft, but that's not the case. As for that company, I used to work there, I still have very good friends there, and they're still my biggest customer. And they say (internally) many of the "nasty" things we've said here in the forums and on the newsletter. We know - and they know - they've done many things right (VB3 :-D ), and a few things wrong. I think it's good to give them a little poke when the latter happens. Thank you for reading the newsletter (and for those who don't: :(( )

The only base they use to critisize is that Microsoft is charging for everything. In my opinion. This should not be the base. I haven't heard that Microsoft Windows, Office, Visual Studio, SQL Server etc. etc. products are awesome (even if Microsoft is offering industry-best products). Any thoughts on these negative thoughts?

For me, there is a combination of two factors that really make me hit on a company: over-marketing and just being a hassle. A lot of Microsoft groups suffer from the first part (as do Apple, Google, and many others), and some Microsoft software suffers from the second (SQL Server 2008 in particular seemed to be more of a hassle to install than any older versions I've tried). I think we get spoiled by ... parts of Visual Studio, and when something doesn't work like we want, we complain. I recognize that I also complain more than the average ;)

What about reporting issue(to be positive) to Microsoft(as they always welcome suggestions) instead of complaining(to be negative)?

Microsoft products are Most User Friendly ! If they are becoming user friendly, why don't we become company friendly ?

Trust me, I've gone down that road a lot. Many of us are too tired of playing the, "works as designed" and/or, "that's fixed in the next release" games. I think the real point though is that I keep coming back and using Microsoft tools, so they must be doing something right (I just wish they did that something a little more often)
