I mean, I have nothing better to do, than to offer a free course, in a reasonably complex web development task, to someone who has no idea what they are doing, 'no matter how long it takes', You need to get a grip. We are here to answer specific questions for people who have tried to do their own work. What you're describing, no-one is going to do. Look for an article on how to write what you want, if you must do this first, but really, you should buy a book or two on ASP.NET, AFTER working through a book or two on VB.NET. THEN you can learn about AJAX, and THEN you can start to think about writing chat clients.
