http://wiki.osdev.org/[^] Figures, I put aside a few hours to work on a hobby project, and OSDev has decided that it's server load limitations are more important than my time. I mean, come on... who cares if the server goes up in flames? I need a temporary timewaster...

FarmTown on Facebook is a very effective timewaster. Maybe you can fix the bugs while you're there! :-D

It is addicting! I'm long past the top level and still logon daily. But it's about the only way I have to chat with friends who are too far away to visit.

Do yourself the same favor I did myself... get an outboard Facebook chat client. Trillian Astra[^] (my favorite) or Digsby[^].

I will, but I still enjoy re-arranging my farm and trying weird new things, like planting fields under my mansion, and building waterfalls out of river segments. It's kinda fun to see what can be done playing with orthogonally projected objects with undefined z-order. I've found that you can overlay a dirt path on almost anything, and you can place almost anything on top of a dirt path. That makes opportunities for stacking things the designers never meant to be layered nearly endless... I'm still discovering new combinations! :-D

I'm seriously considering defriending 2 of my friends because of the constant updates I get on my profile from that app (and similar pseudo games). Or maybe I'll just figure out how to disable feeds from them.

Visual Studio is an excellent GUIIDE.

Rog, Rog, you are turning into everything I imagined you not to be. ;P Btw, can't find you on FB, add me if you want - shouldn't be difficult at all to find me.... ;)

Cheers, Vikram. (Cracked not one CCC, but two!)

Is it anything like FarmVille (on FaceBook too)? I'm a total addict. That and Mafia Wars.

From what I can see of FarmVille, Farmtown is less goofy. The trees actually look like trees, for example, not pink umbrellas.

I actually like the FarmVille graphics better, although FarmTown seems to have a couple more gameplay elements (the prices apparently change based on demand, and you can hire people (real people) as farm hands from what i've seen so far). Looks interesting, thanks for the reference.

I had a similar problem: friends posting inane comments every few minutes. If you hover over the post you should see a couple of buttons (I think - I'm at work so I'll not log on from here) in the top right corner of the post. I think it gives you the option to hide all posts from that person. Better than "defriending" them.
