Is this based on a recent Bing-test, CG? After their last update, I've tested Bing out just to see if they've improved and the results were pretty good. They still don't seem to have as big a database of content as Google does, but the differences are thin.

Well, Google has not been sitting idle the last 8 years :-) If Google would let anyone (including Bing) to so easily take the #1 search engine spot, they wouldn't be any good at all, would they? I suspect Bing will continue to be #2 for another year or two, after which Bing and Google will even out, and it'll probably be like IE and Firefox - people use one or the other based on personal preferences rather than on one of them being better than the other.

Well, Google has not been sitting idle the last 8 years :-) If Google would let anyone (including Bing) to so easily take the #1 search engine spot, they wouldn't be any good at all, would they? I suspect Bing will continue to be #2 for another year or two, after which Bing and Google will even out, and it'll probably be like IE and Firefox - people use one or the other based on personal preferences rather than on one of them being better than the other.

When did IE get to be as good as Firefox ? Did I miss something ? :P

Of course it could also be that you don't know how to use a browser :rolleyes: I just searched on that error message and got 3190 hits on Google and 2500 on Bing.

I certainly know how to use a browser, and to use Bing or Google is alos very easy as it has 1 textbox and a couple of buttons... :rolleyes: Did you use quotation marks around the message to search for the exact match? I tested it again before posting and it still gives 0 on Bing

The other day I got a "A transport-level error has occurred when sending the request to the server. (provider: Shared Memory Provider, error: 0 - No process is on the other end of the pipe.)" exception message so I opened the web browser to do some searching on it. The machine I was using still had MS Bing as the deafult search engine so I gave it a try, 0 results. I switched to 'ol faithful' Google: 406 results... The funny thing is the first 3 results on Google are on MS pages... And they contain the answer... Does MS not want us to find them using their own new UBER search engine? Maybe they should use Google to find themselves a better search engine... :) :-D :laugh:

in Bing, try removing quotes and then try, you will get almost same result as google. Otherwise no result... thats funny...
And it gets funnier, Google (aka: The Search Enemy) has the MS links right at the top, and without the quotes MS has results, but they are not at the top... :laugh: :laugh: :laugh:
