The king. He can dupe the king-maker, become king, then kill the king-maker. Of course, a nuclear bomb would go part of the way to beating them all.

If the king is not a king yet, then he isn't part of the question. However, if you wanted to open up the discussion, my previous comment about a nuclear bomb still stands.

In that case he is not yet the king and therefore does not enter into the question "Who is more powerful - the king or the king maker". You should have said "Who is more powerful - the prince or the king maker". Unless of course he is a commoner, in which case you should have said "Who is more powerful - the commoner or the king maker". Of course it is always possible that he is currently the Emperor, and is about to get demoted. In which case you should have said "Who is more powerful - the emperor or the king maker". I'm getting bored now.

Nuh, the Oracle is the most powerful. The ultimate in power surely has be

to have a license to be permanently stoned,
to be surrounded by sacrificial maidens,
to have everyone believe your every utterance,
              to be your own boss,
to be the recipient of a government pension,
with free accommodation somewhere in sunny Greece.

But apart from the Oracle, there's always Lord Mandy.

Have a look in your local library for an illustrated version of Aeschylus, you might find some there. But they mainly exist within our collective consciousness, perhaps you'll need to refer to Jung to gain membership of that august body. The people who inhabit Greece today bear little relationship to the Oracle consulting Greeks, similarly those who fought with Boudicca are not much related to the current occupiers of England. Cleopatra was Greek, although thanks to Alexander's conquests, she was born and lived most her life in Egypt.

Ask Sophia Alekseevna. (Obscure reference of the day.)

Is the king-maker an elf? Is so, him.
