It has been declared treasure by South Staffordshire coroner Andrew Haigh, meaning it belongs to the Crown.andBBC correspondent Nick Higham said the hoard would be valued by the British Museum and the money passed on to Mr Herbert and the landowner.If the find is crown property, why is the museum going to be paying the finder for it?The latest nation. I assumed that meant the Crown was going to own it, after buying it from the finders. It seems only fair.
