I think Vegemite is vile. What do those who like it think of the new recipe ( calling it something cheesy and mixing it with cream cheese ) ?

Bah! I'm a lifelong fan of Vegemite, but I think the new recipe is repugnant! The taste is weak and insipid and it's got one of the most rediculous names ever conceived: "iSnack 2.0". Apparently there were some 48,000 entries in the competition to choose a name for the "new Vegemite". I can't believe "iSnack 2.0" was the best they could come up with. Seriously, what were they thinking??

Given the response to my cheesey post I though an infromal survey on favourite sandwiches might be appropriate. To get it going my favourite is: Marmite. Sunpat crunchy peanut butter. Any mature cheddar. Heinz tomato ketchup. Lurpak (butter). Multi-grain bread (Tesco sell a particularly tasty one). As an aside Marmite have a forum where people can post their favourite marmite sandwiches. The weirdest has to be marmite and coleslaw. For those of you unfortunate enough to not know what marmite[^] is. Edit: just found this: Vegemite unscrews lid on iSnack2.0[^]. Vegemite is the vegetarian version used by wimpy autralians who can't handle the real thing.

Quarter Pounder, 12" Sub, 14" Deep Pan, Have you noticed that they are all Imperial Measurments? No-one orders a 30cm Sub or a 113 grammer. (Yeah I know they aint version numbers).

Marmite is also vegetarian. :) I have tried both and I lean toward vegemite.

Cheese and marmite go well together. Chicken, bacon and mayo. Philly and ham. On the subject of marmite, yesterday I added a small dollop to some instant gravy to go with my toad-in-the-hole, mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

2 reasons. 1. If I were to name most of the Arabic (Arabic cuisine is more or less uniform in the Levant with slight changes depending on the region) the majority wouldn't know it and try as I might, a lot of this stuff is actually ungoogleable in other than Arabic. I believe this is the fault of Arabs not actively participating in spreading their web-culture. I hope to amend that. 2. Keshkaval is known locally as Keshkawan and though it started somewhere else, the Arabs have adopted it and can to reasonable degree be claimed as Arabic food as well, particularly in Lebanon, Syria, Jordan and Palestine. Pita bread is Arabic bread, better known as Lebanese bread. Try these particular favorite of mine: (pre preparation: mix Labneh[^] (cow's milk, not goat or sheep) with Shatta[^] to taste. As equal portions as possible) 1. Pita bread, warmed, spread the Labneh + Shatta mix liberally, with a few chopped spring onion leaves and some olive oil. 2. Boil the hell out of some Akkawi[^] cheese until the majority of the salt is drained out. Place in the pita pocket, cut pieces of tomato all over the cheese pieces, cover the pita and toast in a alligator toaster until the bread is browned and crispy. I'll be happy to oblige some more. You're in Atlanta, right? I think you have a sizeable Arabic community there. I could name a few dishes (Vegetarian IIRC) if you want :)

Good sausages straight out of the pan - slice em up, stick em between some buttered bread with ketchup, lovely. And if you cook double what you need, you can have them cold the day after! Mmmmmm.
