I wonder how much I was responsible for the bid to go up. When I posted about it the bid was just $71.20.

              How is that possible?

If you truly believe you need to pick a mobile phone that "says something" about your personality, don't bother. You don't have a personality. A mental illness, maybe - but not a personality. - Charlie Brooker My Photos/CP Flickr Group - ScrewTurn Wiki v3

Probably invalidated the people's bids. It was two guys with 0 feedback, one less than 30 days old, in a bidding war with each other who were behind the bids from 150 on up.

I don't suppose anybody here has a spare Google wave invite they'd be willing to part with.

Google Wave is a reference implementation and sample application for the Google Wave Federation Protocol[^]. The application itself is kind of interesting - live conversation trees and sharing of images all within a brower. Neato. But the most interesting part for me is the spec. Part of it is a fairly clever and well defined way of sending XML mutations across a group of participants. It's not rocket surgery, but it's still interesting. The architectural summary does a good job of describing it: "Google Wave is a communication and collaboration platform based on hosted conversations, called waves. A wave consists of XML documents and supports concurrent modifications and low-latency updates between participants on the wave." Push the hype aside, it is a really interesting approach. The application they are using to show it off is interesting too. I'm looking forward to trying it out and seeing how well we can make it integrate with out current systems at work. - Phil
