    Hi... My friend's PC has a 19 GB HDD. The "fdisk" when run on DOS shows that it has 19 GB as the whole single partition ("c:"). But when we saw in windows (Windows ME) it shows as 11.9 GS in total. Whats wrong. Any remedy??

      Are you sure you were looking at FAT 16 and not FAT32 ? Most likely you should upgrade bios and it that doesn't work install the utility that comes with the HD that masks to Bios and OS into thinging the drive is 19GB .... example Maxtor/Western digital comes with software to do this .... Hope that helps ... Chris

        Thanks... but the thing is, I have already formatted the PC again and reinstalled that with windows 2000. And now.. oops its fine with the HDD memory. Anyways thanks for ur reply....
