So if you post a question in the correct forum, but don't get answers that lead anywhere, and feel that if other people might come across it, that better results might spawn. what would be the appropriate way to bring the question up again w/o getting all the hate of angry potential answerers about dlb posting etc?

Delete the original post if it has no answers, or amend it to explain that it's been moved to another forum. In the posting in the new forum, explain what the problem is, and why you have moved the post to the other forum. If you make it clear that you're not attempting to game the system, you should be OK.

Rephrase your question, add additional information, add external references of what you find on the internet (similar problems, potential solutions, ...) In short, show that you did some work to find a solution between the original post and the current one; and at least wait a day or two.

If your old question is no longer visible, and if your new question says 'I asked this the other day, and I tried the suggestions, which were x,y,z, they didn't work because.,...' then you're plainly trying to move forward. It's people who get answers and then just repost the original question, which kickstarts the same discussion and the same answers, which is looked down on.
