I don't think that will happen to many astronomers will get upset. Plus the fact that Tombaugh found it by inference, and not by studying thousands of pictures looking for anything that showed up. Though popular rumour has it that what Tombaugh found (Pluto) wasn't actually what caused him to look in that part of the sky in the first place :) B.

At one time, we had a network of Sun machines. The guys named them after the planets. There was a jerk in QA who insisted he had to have one too. He wasn't happy when they insisted on naming his machine Uranus.
