Does it only work for "new new"? Or does "new to me" count? I had to go through "come up with an excuse..." to get my AlphaServers. At least it was cheaper than therapy. On the plus side, I was speaking with a recruiter about a C and OpenVMS job today. Later, when my wife asked whether or not I was still familiar enough with OpenVMS, I was able to say that I am. On yet another hand, there is this shiny new gadget[^] I want...

Yes there is: "Does the new one look exactly like the old one?" No other tech company has that as policy, because no other tech company is led by someone who thinks his "artistic inspiration" is perfect and should never be changed by underlings. Ergo, if something looks exactly the same as the old one, it's Apple, and the subsequent question is redundant.

I don't see the point. There are three questions: 0. Is it shiny? 1. Does it have flashing lights? 2. Does it go 'ping'? If you get two[1] yeses then go buy it. [1] Less than 2 yeses, you should buy it if you're a geek.
Panic, Chaos, Destruction. My work here is done.

I was reading an article on the new "Windows 7, that was my idea" ad campaign and one of the things that made me chuckle was "Have it your way, not Steve's way" :-D
