Best present ever
-
My girlfriend came over last night and surprised me with a 13 inch Macbook Pro! It was totally unexpected. I've spent weeks deciding if I should buy one or not... and in the end I think she was just sick of me constantly talking about it :) What's the best present you've ever received?

Oh, the innuendo in that statement. Especially when you combine it with:

I got a TomTom Rider 2 last month for my birthday. I still have to take it for a proper spin somewhere where i'd otherwise be lost.

I have had a hellish time with macbooks recently. My MD bought one and asked me to put him on the works wifi and network, and to enable him to send stuff to a printer he is not connected to, (Not a network printer!). Oh joy, esp as I know nothing about macs!

Dave, this is easy. Look at the network system preferences, look in airport and just do what you would do on a Windows machine. It is actually very easy comparatively. The printer thing is wishful thinking. You need to be connected to or have a network printer. You can do this, you are intelligent and they made it to be simple enough for a layman to manage. For you, cake.

I would like to share but it’s not KSS.

Oh it is all sorted, but it took longer. I just applied his default printer to the printer on the secretary's machine, popped in her address and told it to print to that. Still a pain.

Romantically I should say it was when she said yes to my marriage proposal! In reality it was a ZX Spectrum when I was 13!

The same here, but I was 16. What a present!
