Hi y'all I am a registered customer of Business Components Gallery Library (SE) and use it in most of the products our company developps. There hasn't been any updates or news since nearly 3 months and I wonder what is going to happen. The official homepage is stand-by, people that begin to worry and asking for news are nearly insulted (read here)...:omg: Is there anybody else working with BCGLibrary? I would like to hear your opinion... How satisfied are you with the product/service? Danoo

I have been using BCG since v4.x and I am VERY happy with both the code and the support. However, I am still using v5.8x - I couldn't justify the cost to upgrade to the Pro version. As the version I am using is so stable and bug-free, I haven't paid my yearly support sub - and consequently haven't had an update since the beginning of the year.

I had to read it again to make sure I wasn't dreaming it. This was so pathetically unprofessional of BCG!!! If this is the way they are supporting customers, it's better that they shut down for good!!! Nish

Hi, I am a registered BCG-Soft customer of Business Components Gallery Library (PE) for two years now and i agree with Danoo, that this is definitively not the correct way for BCG-Soft to treat their customers. I know that BCG-Soft is busy with their work on the professional edition of the Business Components Gallery Library, but this is the second (or third?) time the monthly update (the customers have paid for this!) is interrupted for weeks. On the other hand i am very satisfied with the product and the support. Best regards Holger Persch

Yep thats quite bad, and even if the person was not a paying customer, then there was still no reason not to answer it, they were not asking for technical support, but information about the support for the product, and if it would continue. This is the problem with going for 3rd party libraries. You get locked in, and then they can pull the plug leaving your own product in the lurch, with an possible expensive port to another provided. Shame that MFC has just not been updated, as there are loads of examples of what these libraries do for free on places like CP. I'm surprised no one has attempted to build an opensource free

An e-mail has directed me to this thread regarding the BCG library. I too am a registered, paid, customer of the SE edition. I also posted the original message on the BCG forum about SE upgrades. Why BCG does not want to answer my question makes no sense. It seems clear that the SE version will no longer get regular updates, so why not just admit it? Why hide the truth? BCG has stated that there is only one programmer (S.L.) behind the BCG library. He has, apparently, decided to focus his efforts on the professional version. I could "upgrade" to the professional version, but at $599.00 it seems overpriced. The Standard Edition is only $299. And the professional version has never had regular updates. Has anyone switched from BCG to another library that they think is better?

Well, I posted another message to the BCG forum regarding concern about their silence on SE updates. They deleted it and also deleted my original post. Feel free to post them regarding your questions, but I doubt if they will listen. Steve
