Thank you sir! I am now the proud runner, er, maybe just runner, of a win2000 server box. It was about 10 million times easier to set up then my linux server. Lets see how many times I will need to reboot per month now. Thank you again Philip.

Lol :) You are welcome :) Dunno about you, but the servers of the company where I'm working havn't been rebooted for like a half year. And the last boot happend because of power cut for all night, lol Philip Patrick Web-site: www.stpworks.com "Two beer or not two beer?" Shakesbeer

If properly configured it and you keep running Windows Update, probably no reboots nor attacks for a long, long time. Here, practicaly we only reboot our machines, whether Linux or Windows 2000 when there is a power cut... My latest articles: Desktop Bob - Instant CP notifications XOR tricks for RAID data protection

In future you might want to try www.domainwhitepages.com[^]. They have a tool on there which tries various diagnostics against whichever server you specify including 'Service Scan' which checks for HTTP, ftp, pop3 etc at your address. I use it all the time to make sure my web server is visible on the internet. Cheers James

It's up, but it's painfully slow to load, even on my cable modem. Jon Sagara Help me out here, Spock. I don't speak stupid.

It is slow because it is being run at my house with only a cable modem running. That and I was downloading, and uploading, (file share) while you were checking it. To all thank you for your help. I was expecting to get a bunch of crap because I stopped running Linux to run Windows. It just seems easier to run. I am now looking forward to running my server. Who knows what I will do now that I can write code for my server. Thanks for all the help. Darroll
