W8 development, expected for 2012, or the end-of-the-world, also expected for 2012 ? :omg:

The end of the world, definitely! Despite contrary claim from the MS marketing department! :-)

Are you positive you're not twice referring to the same event?

According to some readings of the Mayan calendars, they predict that it will be the release of Win8 (WEight) that will in fact end the world in a glorious blue sky of death.

I'd expect that, given their track record with timely releases, the end of the world will be long forgotten history before Windows 8 is released. Perhaps it will trigger a new Big Bang and start things all over again, but this time a Universe that requires restarting KRNL42 every couple of months instead of millenia.

By 2012, we will all be lying in the grass, watching the clouds dance to the tunes of Chrome OS. And idly waiting for all those nice things people used to predict and promise.

Well a few years ago a lot of us here believed the world would end when John Simmons took up VB. And now we all know that that was just folklore. So no, I don't think the world will end in 2012!

Once the Large Hadron Collider gets going full blast in 2012 it'll all be over in the blink of an eye. ;)

Hey, you all are joking, but things are serious. I've heard they are cancelling all advertisements, worldwide (if it still is there) that say - " Buy W8 now, pay only next year. "

With John doing vb.net, I'm certain the end of the world is really sooner than expected.
