Awesome. I'd not seen that site yet. BTW - the source for the page is just as funny as the page itself.

You'd think after spending a brazillion trillion euros they would have graphic displays that looked less like they were rendered on a Commodore 64. :)

It seems to be a persistent problem with techy people that the underlying data matters more than the UI. I'm sure their data are accurate enough to drive an really cool high res openGL model but someone somewhere in the depths of CERN probably vetoed the expense of paying someone to make the data look really futuristic. The techies probably even believe that such graphics would detract from the science they are performing. Have a look at this page from one of CERN's websites http://lhc-commissioning.web.cern.ch/lhc-commissioning/[^]

Because the LHC saw its first collisions! So we've all been sucked into a black hole, but not ... now, where's that cat. http://press.web.cern.ch/press/PressReleases/Releases2009/PR17.09E.html[^]

Well done everyone at CERN. Have a  and celebrate a job well done.

I thought you were talking about the actual site, until I viewed the source to see where the elegant but spartan blue and white styling came from. The are millions of 'LsdException's in the source!

After my first collision, my parents took away my superconductivity rights. :sigh:
