Interesting if true! I like that they've stopped pouring out new consoles at high pace more recently, and with Natal and the Sony Motion Controller, looks like both the 360 and PS3 may hit the expected lifespan of 10 years (can't remember where I read this number). Good on their parts too, I guess they can't afford to be doing new full on consoles right now, which are initially sold at a loss.

I'll let a mate buy it before I bother with it. The Wii just sits in my room collecting dust. It only gets fired up when people (normally relatives) come over and ask to play. The PS3 gathers dust as well. The 360 gets a good running every week (at the moment it's Assassins Creed II) :-D

Same here, the PS3 gets fired up for DVDs (because it's much quieter than the 360) and for blu-rays, as when I got it second hand, it was much cheaper than any blu-ray player out there.

Yeah, I occasionally use it for Blue Rays (which do look the bis) The main reason I bought the PS3 was for Final Fantasy XIIIIIIIIXIXIXIXIXIIIIVVVIII whatever the latest one is going to be. But NOW I think I read that it's coming out on the 360 as well!

Wow, so what exclusives do they have left now? Gran Turismo, yawn. Ratchet and Clank? Lol, and none of the add ons to GTA4 that the 360 version got (Microsoft made sure of that). Other than that, I do like the Resistance games, really looking forward to Resistance 3, but I'll just play the single player and take it back. Everyone I know who games on consoles all have a 360, and those with a PS3 as well are just like you and me. On the note of the PS3, I saw the "slim" in store recently, it isn't slim at all, looks like it's barely lost any weight and size of the original.

I have no idea. The main gripe I have with the PS3 is the controller - it really hurts my hands. I have to stop every 20 minutes or so to stretch my hands out and give them a rest. Bloody awful design. Which is the main reason I buy games for the 360, not really for XB Live - although XB Live is better than the PS version. I tend to play most of my games offline, then if I do play online it's only with real friends co-op'ing certain games (I can't really be dealing with random annoying strangers). If I could use the 360 controller on my PS3 then it might get some use!

I think MS nailed the 360 controller, and although the PS3 doesn't hurt to use, it's certainly uncomfortable. It's far too small, the analogue sticks are horrible and while the addition of triggers was very welcome, they were poorly designed and as such I bought the plastic snap on additions to stop my fingers sliding off them. I play mostly online, and XBL is certainly worth every penny. I tend to keep up with a lot of old uni buddies through it, we chat a lot, kinda like voice conferencing with guns :)

It will be good to see what kinda of hacks people will come up with for Natal. (Like they did with the Wii remote)
