Brrrr, I would eat that only if I not find anything better in the trash dumpers.

.. you think digestive biscuits dipped in condensed milk constitutes as a meal.
If at first you don't succeed, you're not Chuck Norris.
When I was in my first year of college, I used to go and buy canned food. It didn't matter what so much as whatever was cheap. I had a cheap electric pot that I'd heat water and the cans in. Later I started working part time and so I could afford to go to the cafeteria once a week or so. Needless to say my weight was somewhat less than it is now. :)

You boil hot dogs. Eat them and save the water you boiled them in to use as soup for the next days sole meal.
Ok, you win! :)

When I was at Uni, a good meal was beans on toast, on a poor day it was bean on toast.

Can't you get free condiment packets? My typical dinner while in college and working part-time was: Take two hot dogs, cut them up. Boil them. Add frozen peas. Add Minute Rice to soak up the water. Top with shredded cheese. Enjoy.

<old_man_mode> Back in my school days, grocery shopping consisted of a pound of coffee, a ten pound bag of potatoes, and a carton of cigarettes. </old_man_mode> No wonder that when I graduated from college I weighed less than I did when I graduated from high school.

When I was at uni I ate so much packet pasta alfredo (pour the packet in, add a bit of milk and butter and put in microwave). For protein I would add a tin of tuna to the mix. In winter, I would make a litre of soup (packet mix of course) and add some frozen vegies to it... To this day I can't eat pasta alfredo any more...

Open a tin of baked beans and eat it cold scooping it out with a spoon, cos you couldn't afford to put it on the cooker (or that the cooker was busted/gone manky with burnt food stuck to it) :-D oh and also.... Buy 3 pints for the price of 2 and drink it in one go....and generally act stupid afterwards.... my 2 cents... Tom

I bought a fold out table ($30), an electric burner ($30), and had a pot from home ($Free). I'd cook with that... beans, potatoes, veggies, fish, whatever. I even opened my window and used my fan and air purifier to make sure the fire alarm didn't go off. We weren't technically supposed to have things capable of burning the dorms down in our rooms, but I had little choice... my stomach called out to me and I had to listen. And only once did I burn something enough to set off the fire alarm and get the entire fire deparment called out.
