    Well when you see big companies like Adobe not being able to write good installers/uninstallers then you can understand why the little guys screw up too. I love Adobe installers. "Please exit all other applications then wait for 2 hours while we spin some wheels and use the last 5 minutes to actually install. Then reboot, 5 times, then reinstall some browser plugins, then maybe you have to uninstall and start again or maybe not. Then launch the app and spend 30 minutes registering it, which may not work the first few times. If you had previous versions of our software installed, then you are very screwed but you can run this semi-manual uninstaller tool. But you have to do that BEFORE you attempt this install, even though we've only told you AFTER this install. If you have a case-sensitive file-system then switch it to case-insensitive and install then switch back and hope it doesn't blow up, some of our coders used uppercase while others used lowercase for filenames. Sorry. Also, when you install Photoshop, you will also get 5 other free and bloody useless applications that you'll never ever use. If you don't want them installed then spend 30 minutes unticking boxes in our 500 deep node-tree. Have a nise day. Excuse our typos, we couldn't be arsed. Thanks for your thousands of Euros."

    cheers, Paul M. Watson.

      So beautiful... I can't look away... You've taken the entire Adobe install experience and condensed it into a single seething paragraph of hate and viciousness. Which is pretty much all you would get condensing the hours and hours of trying to get reader, photoshop and various other products from them to work.

            Just curious, have your tried MS Security Essentials yet? http://www.microsoft.com/security_essentials/[^] I know you are having a problem with Avast at the moment, but thought perhaps you had tried it prior to Avast. I have used MS SE on several machines now and they seem to be working fine.

              Look at Lauren's display name. The broken html tags are probably to blame although in quoted text FF3.5 manages to figure out what the tags were supposed to do.

              3x12=36 2x12=24 1x12=12 0x12=18

                Since it's a clean install from windows wouldn't it have been faster to just format and reinstall? :) I'v been thinking about ditching avast as well (it slows down my pc to a hold every time it scans) but considering your troubles I'll just back reinstall (needed to do it soon anyway). Might even try that new windows 7 thingy now ;P

                    Aha! I thought I'd hit a shortcut key combination that did strange things. (Shows red in Opera, too -- there are other browsers than the hen-house one)
