India beat SL 2-0 with two innings victories on the trot, and what's more, we're No. 1[^] in the Test rankings. Who would have thought this possible 2 years back? Next targets - series victories in SA and AU. Oh, and congrats to Pakistan, for winning a Test match after 3 years! [EDIT]Gotta feel a bit for SL, they got a few rough decisions. When they got bowled out early on day 2, they must have thought, Ha ha, we got nearly 400 on the board. Stumps day 2, India have 400+ on the board, a healthy lead, and are only one down. None of the Lankans would have imagined an innings defeat after their 1st innings.[/EDIT]

With the amount of cricket being played nowadays, I've gotten absolutely tired of the game. Those were days when matches were far in between and full of intensity and excitement. These days, there's a match on almost everyday, and the fact that all domestic matches are also relayed live adds to the confusion. Good for India though, caught the match in bits and pieces from the office cafeteria. :-D

Yeah, that is a good feeling, even if the lack of the review system does slightly dampen the victory. Ironically, we only play 5 tests in the next 12 months! This will essentially deprive aging greats like SRT and Dravid of a few games (the others are young enough to make up later on).

Yeah, that is a good feeling, even if the lack of the review system does slightly dampen the victory. Ironically, we only play 5 tests in the next 12 months! This will essentially deprive aging greats like SRT and Dravid of a few games (the others are young enough to make up later on).

:zzz: This whole 20-20 saga has made my interest in cricket zero. I don't care anymore. I had always liked test matches over ODIs but now, they play tests like one dayers (and that is crap). I know its a dying game and these guys are leaving no chance for it to survive as long as it can.
50-50-90 rule: Anytime I have a 50-50 chance of getting something right, there's a 90% probability I'll get it wrong...!!

England borrowing Dravid for a year...hmmm. So long as they allow him to add runs to his international tally, I dont suppose it makes a difference. Although, I'd much rather have him (and other classy batsman in the world) play for India :).

In my opinion it has made cricket more interesting. The aim of any sports should be entertainment and IPL has done a lot to improve the entrainment value of the game.

Congratulations. I thought you always told me you were an Australian cricket fan and not interested in the Indian side? There is a good match on here at the moment. Oz v WI. It could go either way. It will be interesting to see if the rest of the cricket world react to the Indian team in a similar fashion to what they did the Australian team when we were dominant for so long.

I was, but I had my doubts after the Sydney Test. Ponting calling England 'unsporting' after the Cardiff Test was what made me change my mind.

They won't, for the simple reason we won't stay there long. Three other teams are in position to wrest the #1 ranking, and India only play 5 matches (yes, matches, not series) in the next 12 months.
