I have heard Songbird is a good alternative, can't speak from experience though.

What specifically is your problem with iTunes? It has always worked perfectly for me. The Windows version is a bit slow but the Mac version is fast.

I had my doubts on MSE but your opinion on this product made me try this s/w and I have no regrets till now. From now on,I will keep an eye on your recomendations... Any sugesstion for alternate to iTunes

The Windows iTunes team is still catching up. Originally iTunes was not able to be used on Windows. The used a 3rd party for it as soon as they did go to Windows. (MusicBox or something, been longer than my son has been around since I played with that horrible program) Not much of an excuse, there have been a good 3-5 versions since then. On a Mac it is extremely zippy. But I have noticed that pretty much any music organizing/playing program I have dealt with on a Windows machine has been a bit of a slowpoke. Part of it is that they don't just do 1 thing. iTunes should have broken up into 2-3 programs a while ago. The Music store, video, and music playing are integrated for ease of use, but man it is a performance hit.

I screenshot problems I have with iTunes and post them on my Facebook. It's become somewhat of a "thing". I'm thinking of creating an album just for iTunes problems.

Since version 5.55[^] ;P OK, I admit I didn't know that myself until a minute back. I thought the OP was asking for music players in general, but it turns out Winamp can manage iPods. Awful day at work, off to bed now.

Well, they've got to be using some sort of hack or it's completely a guessing game. These third party syncing softwares don't work, and/or can seriously corrupt your existing database (sometimes can corrupt playlists, or tags). Been there, done that. Why would people use crappy iTunes otherwise? :)

I believe a native English speaker might have said something on the order of "and I have no regrets so far." That looks like the intent, anyway.

Same reason why the majority of users stick with old versions of IE, or even purchase an iPod in the first place. They don't know any better. I've always used Winamp and, although I don't have a portable media player (I have yet to come across one which satisfies me in terms of audio quality, price, storage size, lack of proprietary-ness, and also does my laundry), it always prompts me to sync with my USB drives and such. Winamp has gotten bloated as of late (what hasn't?), but it's still a great program; much better than iTunes and WMP anyway.

It's a complete mess. It's an example of badly done software. I think that it's a topic for a new thread. I'll start it off at my leisure, and give you a link to the post.
