On Wednesday night after work, I went to the train station to buy a rail card to Uni. While signing some forms, i put my wallet down in front of me, not realising what fate had in store for me. Moments later a guy was trying to reach for some leaflet next to me, unknown to me, he was in fact actually nicking my wallet right in front of my eyes. Today being Friday, i have just got a phone call to say that my wallet has been found outside the train station in the car pack All the money is gone, but at least my cards and driving licience etc is still there, thats the main thing. Would have been such a hassle to get evreything changed... YIPPEE!! I hope they catch this person, cos there was a camera right behind us filming....watch this space! --- Peter M

Then they give the wallet to the bouncers and tell them the found it... kinda nice robbers in a way.. if you know what I mean. One of my friends even got his wallet posted back to him [his address in his wallet] with an apology note for robbing his money!!!! Brian Regards, Brian Dela :-)

Remind me that if I go to Brazil, I should store all important cards and stuff somewhere *other* than my wallet. :~ Even a broken clock is right twice a day.

You know, maybe I should start carrying my money in a separate wallet. That would make things easier for both me and potential thieves. :-D Even a broken clock is right twice a day.

CHANGE YOUR CREDIT CARD AND ATM NUMBERS NOW! One of the easiest ways to commit identify theft is what happened to you. Your wallet was stolen and only the money was taken. You think your credit cards are safe, whereas the thief probably copied the numbers. He can now use them at will.

:-O Sorry. ATM = Automated Teller Machine. It's a generic term here in the U.S. for bank machines. Good luck, Peter.

I was robbed like that once while playing a video game (early 80's here) when I was 14. I was a newspapaer carrier and they took my money bag that I laid on top of the machine. Problem was that I knew most of them. After a threat to prosecute and a few visits to their parents, I got my money back. A few years later at age 17, the ring leader walked into a liquor store and killed the owner execution style with a gun. He barely escaped a death sentence only because he was 17 and is now in jail for life... Todd

--- Peter M
