I didn't say that you were a 14 years old, neither I said that you must not say your opinion. The lounge is for this, but that's the risk posting here. You can get answers you maybe don't like ;) ;P Sorry if my answer "sounded" rude, it was not my intention. I was just exposing facts. Colors could be other way, yes. But these have become part of CP-Identity, and other changes in layout and so on would bring a lot of "not necessary" job + complications. You have to consider the volume of data/users/functionality and so on that has this site. The plainest it is, the easier to mantain/improve. If they start doing animations/other layouts or similar things, and problems begin... CP could loose those aspects that make it one of the best sites in the web.

Regards. -------- M.D.V. ;) If something has a solution... Why do we have to worry about?. If it has no solution... For what reason do we have to worry about? Help me to understand what I'm saying, and I'll explain it better to you Rating helpfull answers is nice, but saying thanks can be even nicer.

There is a thing called "Consumer Resistance". Change a product design in any way and loyalty is lost. This happens in all aspects of commerce, trade and even TV Programs. When coke changed it's recipe it soon changed it back, there was a backlash. When a major TV Series changes one of it's principal cast members it is a sign that the program will be ending soon. (Exceptions being Dr Who where cast changes are an essential part of the narritive and ensemble shows like Eastenders). People do not like change, (although one shouldn't fall foul of the Wet Monkey syndrome).

Does The Code Project need a new design? Okay. Before you scratch your head (if you agree) or pick up a baseball bat to whack me (if you disagree) I'd like to confess that I'm very new here. I don't know how exactly TCP has evolved till now, but I feel, the website design could have been better. That said, I really love the site for all the information and thank you all who have been involved for such long to bring it to here. :) P.S: Happy New Year! :-D

An art gallery of programming. Hmm.. I guess I've come to the right place then. :-)

True. And CP is all that. :-) Lol! I'm not a 14-year old demanding a new redesign! My God! Sorry for posting my opinion. Next time on, I'll stick to programs. :sigh:

Shh, the Hamsters are listening... I can hear the big wheel squeaking... Personally I have been dreaming of a way to use XAML on this site... Or have an option to view in Silverlight, I think the editing would be better that way...

If you're going to raise a problem (especially on your first post) then at least have the courtesy to posit a solution. You do actually have a valid point, and not being familiar with site might be able to provide some constructive criticism that us older stuck-in-the-muds won't be able to see. Why not make some suggestions and observations to the Site Bugs / Suggestions forum, Chris monitors that frequently. Also, be wary of friendly Hamsters knocking at your door late at night ...

Yes - I agree. It looks dated. There have been a lot of new features and functionality put in place recently. It feels like those are probably close to complete so I expect there's probably someone working on a fresh design as the next big step. Cheers, Drew.

No I don't. I think its quite a nice design IMHO. See here for a look at what looks like all the different versions of CP since Feb 29 2009.

I know you believe you understood what you think I said, but I am not sure you realize what you heard is not what I meant.
