Yea, they rock. And I'm a PC fan boy. I've been wanting a low end netbook, just for checking TV schedules etc while watching, or a quick email or tweet, when in around the house, not in my home office. This is exactly what I wanted, but better. Now I can invest less in an iPad than a netbook, and more in a better laptop.

I've been approached about it already too. :-D I'm not a major fan of developing for iPhone/iTouch/iPad, I find it a bit restricting, right the way across the board. :(

But I though an iPad was around $800. Netbooks routinely come in at around $200-300, and you can buy damn-respectable laptops for less than $600.

Jystad, 2001In SA, last time I bothered to look, netbooks still started at around R4, with decent ones around R6k. Take the $499 price I saw for the iPad, at around R4k, it's a bargain for that quality.

But netbooks can run multiple apps at the same time - iPad can't.
