Rent a Coder Web Services = Web Developer Services?
-
I was just checking out Rent a Coder to get a feel for the website many of us refer others to, and I did a search on jobs posted under the "web services" category. All of them were requests to have websites built, not web services. I also saw a job to "extract email addresses from a webpage at a given URL, visiting n-levels deep each URL linked on the pages, simulating human delays between each page request". Wonder what they're going to use that for. X| Also, most every job is priced far too cheap for the amount of work involved. My rating for Rent a Coder: 2/5. Great framework with lots of potential, terrible user content. Any of you have "fun" experiences with Rent a Coder?

RAC is not targeted at 1st world developers. It's primarily meant for unemployed Chinese and Indian developers to make ends meet until they get a job.

If fun includes laughing at what people want and are willing to pay then yes. My favorite was something along the lines of: "Need asap, website similar to amazon.com. I have a budget of $350. Must have references, I don't want o get ripped off."

full size Google image search.Nice. Seen a few of those myself. Though I didn't read the full descriptions, so I'm not sure if any of them were so adamant about not being ripped off.

full size Google image search.Hi, this is Nicole from Rent a Coder. While 1/3rd of projects on sites like ours and our competitors will be price conscious, the remaining 2/3rds are awarded based on ratings, certifications and expert guarantees. Some workers make tens of thousands of dollars a year and more (see the worker list ranking list at https://www.rentacoder.com/RentACoder/misc/AllCoderCompleteList.asp for details). In order to maximize your earnings, it's important to choose a service that protects you, and different sites vary widely in what they do for you. I invite you and your visitors to compare the 7 major services through this link to learn even more: http://www.rentacoder.com/RentACoder/DotNet/misc/CompetitorInformation/WhyRentACoder\_ForSellers.aspx If you have any questions, please let me know. You can also call in to talk to a facilitator 7 days a week, or email us (see http://www.rentacoder.com/RentACoder/misc/Feedback.asp). Nicole www.rentacoder.com
