Hello, I would like to build a simple personal website for publishing personal projects and some articles. Which engine would you recommend to use? Preferably something that is easy to use for someone who is not really good at web development. Thanks.

ASP.NET is the easiest framework to use, and it has the most support. Especially around here.

You could try the Abyss Web Server (personal edition) from Aprelium http://www.aprelium.com/abyssws/[^]. From the site: Abyss Web Server is a compact web server available for Windows, Mac OS X, Linux, and FreeBSD operating systems. Despite its small footprint, it supports HTTP/1.1, secure SSL/TLS connections (HTTPS), on-the-fly HTTP compression, dynamic content generation through CGI/FastCGI scripts, ISAPI extensions, native ASP.NET support, eXtended Side Includes (XSSI), custom error pages, password protection, IP address control, anti-leeching, and bandwidth throttling. It also features an automatic antihacking system as well as a multilingual remote web management interface that makes its configuration as easy as browsing a web site.

Agreed - having rolled my own, and maintained my wife's site using WP, I'd say WP is worth using

I use Dokuwiki[^] on linux+apache. It's easy to setup and upgrade, no database needed.

IMHO, Wordpress is your best choice to use for a personal website. It's original purpose was as a blog engine, but over the years it has been greatly enhanced. I've set up sites for a number of people using Wordpress that include sites for news reporting, company web site, personal, and others. There are a ton of plugins and many themes to add in customization. And it's easy to set up and use. Worth checking out.
