a little food for thought series

we can be hooked up to news machines all day telling us something new, but if we just keep being bombarded with the new stories, we won’t have time to think about the old ones.
Exactly. Now before you move onto your next story, think about what the quote you just posted really means.

i just got thinking i should change the name of my series title to -may be something like"code project".It might reduce the probability of the number of 1/5 votees that i get :)

I recommend not posting until you have something worthwhile to post. Have an original thought or post something newsworthy (and consider your target audience when you consider what may be newsworthy to us) rather than quotes from movies. Just because you can post does not mean you should feel compelled to do so. This is not Facebook... we don't want to hear every quote you thought was deep, unless perhaps you add some relevant insight into it and how it relates to us. Also, humor is generally well received here, as long as it isn't a repost and it is actually funny. But "here is some quote from some movie you've probably seen" is not really something I think the rest of us want to see every day.

Christian - dont you think this voting system with 10 votes to remove a message is too small a number, considering yu have almost 20000 people online most of the time.

They are mostly looking at articles. Or they are search bots. I doubt there are 20,000 people looking at the Lounge right now.

Nope, you're more likely just annoying about 20 guys and 5 girls, and entertaining 1 person (yourself).

Create a group on Facebook called "I bet I can get one million users to join for ..." and fill in the "..." with whatever you like. More than likely a shitload of people will join just because of the first part of the title. You can then spam them as much as you like (until they defriend you). A better idea would be to not spam any forum. Or maybe create your own website called JoinThisWebsiteIfYouLikeToBeSpammed.com.

No, I don't. In my experience, ( and I can read messages after they have been removed ), the system tends only to delete messages that deserve it, based on community standards.

I would consider my experience here seriously and take a due course of action

"unless perhaps you add some relevant insight into it and how it relates to us" I thought guys at code project may be good at abstractions. "insight into it and how it relates " does everything need to be elucidated?

Not yet, but we're considering an idea with which we can totally ban someone with N number of votes. Then, the voting system will be 'very effective' against people who post thoughtless drivel.
