Small Town Credit Card Transactions (The Cake is a Lie!)

So, it "happened to be a massage place" eh? Yeah, right! "No, darling, it must have been when I bought a cake for my sister. She didn't get an cake? Well I paid - look..." Do you really think she will believe that one?

The charge was for $50. I spend more than $50 on my trips to get a massage. ;)

I wouldn't know - I'm not up to speed on the price of a "massage" - but that would have been an expensive cake: are you sure you called the Master Bakers rather than the masturb...

Actually, I had the cake decorated with monkeys (my sister's favorite animal), so I supposed it could be considered master baking or masterb...

So my sister lives in a really small mountain town (far away from me) and it's her birthday soon. I decided to have a cake made and delivered to her. I called this local bakery and we setup everything. She should have her cake soon. The twist is that I just got a charge on my credit card from a massage place in my sister's town for the exact amount of the cake. Here is what I think happened... When I asked about paying by credit card over the phone, the lady sounded a little confused. When she got my credit card information, she asked for the CVV2 and I asked if she really needed that. She said she didn't know (I don't think they get many phone orders, given that the town is about 2 miles in diameter), so I didn't give it to her. I'm pretty sure she went down the road 0.4 miles to the massage place and had them charge my credit card (probably getting cash from the massage place in return). Either that, or the phone number provided by Google Maps is completely wrong and I just got charged for a massage I never got and a cake my sister will never get. But I'll see soon enough. I'm just going to hope that I got excellent customer service and the lady actually drove down the road so she could find a way to accept my method of payment. I'd probably give her a tip if I wasn't sure it would completely inconvenience her.
It might also be that the massage place and the cake company might be using the same merchant account. I have seen this happen at many places. I get charged in the name of a Hotel when I go to my local grocery store. I also get charged from a tire company from my cleaners.

They may have mixed up your order and she will get a cake where some scantily clad person pops up out of it? Then she will get a massage.
