Interesting. I'm sure I was around 5000 before. I'm now around 15000. My graph looks about the same shape though iirc. Suppose they just decided to scale everything a bit.

I need to do a write-up on the changes, but basically two major things have been put in place: 1. Adding points for all messages posted, not just programming messages. (Still has a bug in that new points may take a while to propogate through) 2. Voting points are now weighted by the member level of the voter. You have an article up-votd by a Gold member and you'll get way more points than before. We're not introducing points for new actions - we're going back through 10 years of activity and adding up what members would have earned anyway. You, for instance, have been with us from an early date and so you've accumulated huge reputation through just being here a lot. Every single person who has a high rep has earned it fully. Well done.

It would be good to also have a description of what goes into the seven categories of rep points. If an article is upvoted, does that go into the Author bin? If an author responds to a question on his article, and that post gets upvoted, does that go into the Author, Authority, or Participant bin?

          Best wishes, Hans

            Actually, at the moment, there's a plateau after 2007... I was near 36k, now I'm 6K :(( :-D

Looks like The Machine has reached 2008 now... Apparently, I started really collecting Lounge votes around then. :~

Not quite everyone... at least not yet. I'm still under 300 points (at last check I was around 10,000).
