Leave application system design brain storming
-
Hi, Looking for sample workflows, class diagrams, scenarios, use cases, etc which depicts how a fictitious HR leave application would work. I am in some kind of brain-storming phase which is why I ask this...I didn't know where else to post
Totally depends on what fictitious HR policies are at the fictitious Company are; But, would have to be something along the lines of; Employee submits leave request Type of Leave checked against employees contract allowances [types maybe, holiday, unpaid, sickness, maternity, paternity, jury duty, career break, etc. etc.] If leave request meets the rules then move into managers workflow for approval else return to requester with reason for rejection Manager receives request, reviews and approves or rejects, again if rejects return to requestor with reasons On approval, it records the request against the calendar system with the necessary codes etc, and the HR system workflow now moves the request through any changes to payroll etc. for the changes to be made by the HR person. All changes etc. are recorded and noted accordingly. That is one basic brainstorm, there are many ways to achieve this, depending on how simple or complicated it needs to be.

Here's an idea. Try and write down an initial requirement. Take the nouns out as candidate classes and advance from there: Privide a
system
thatemployees
can enterrequests
fortime off
and theirmanagers
can approve theapplication
forleave
. [blah blah]
