Brian Delahunty wrote: I'm thinking of giving up coffee You're right. That is completely meaningless. What's important is, what are you replacing it with? Consider these scenarios: I'm thinking of giving up coffee... and going hard-core on the freebasing. Good idea. Mixing the two is bad for your heart i've heard; good to know you're taking better care of yourself. I'm thinking of giving up coffee... It's been keeping me awake in class. A commendable plan once again. Don't ever let chemicals stand between you and a good day's rest. I'm thinking of giving up coffee... and using milk in my scotch instead. No. That is just wrong. Besides, the milk will curdle. I'm thinking of giving up coffee... it just doesn't have a place in my diet of organic potato juice and chemical-free bean sprouts. Terrible idea. If anything, you need *more* coffee, along with some red meat (preferably raw) and at least a case of Li'l Debbie snacks each day. --------- So you see, a bit more information and we can help you out. :)

Switch to strong black tea (pick some good stuff, no dust bags) - same effect, softer to your body and your stomach, and you can have the same "add on" orgy as with coffee, plus the "lemon" option. Just don't mix cream & lemon, will ya? go for it

Brian Delahunty wrote: Ever had a fluffy duck? Naaah fluffy ducks are for wusses. Next time get a tot of any cream liquer (like Baileys, Amarula etc.) and a tot of lime juice. Pop the liquer into your mouth and then chase with the lime. They call it Blow Jobs Revenge :-D Brian Delahunty wrote: As usual you have me lmao!!! Thanks Shog Shog is a definite asset here. Brian Delahunty wrote: Next you'll be asking me to give up Give up beer Brian... ;) Actually I tried cutting back on tea and coffee awhile back. Man I would rather have a class 3 hangover than the headaches I got from that experience. Still once I pushed through it was worth it. Also as others said, cut back on coke to, otherwise what is the point. Someone said soup would help, but for me it did not. I found drinking lots of water was best. Otherwise good luck and if you need anyone to lock you in your room ala Trainspotting just ask :-D

Up until 18 I thought alchohol was this bizarre, awful liquid that mad people drank (ok so that made 98% of the world mad, but hey I was young and naive.) Then I hit 18 and figured out what all the fuss was. Same with coffee. I thought it was horrid but from about 19 to 20 my tastes changed and suddenly a Star Bucks Latte is heaven on earth... in a cup... with a lid. i.e. You are young, you will change in the coming years and so might your tastes :) (just ask anyone here over 21 and they will verify this.)

Ah.. as Paul said, it' like drink. Now strangely enough I can give up drink easily. I managed to go 4.5 months without any last year while still going out with my friends as much as usual. Coffee on the other hand is very addictive.. well to me anyway. Regards, Brian Dela :-)
