All the three are traditionally Indian dishes (rasmalai and jalebis being desserts). Jalebis, I'm addicted to and they go well with a warm cup of Darjeeling tea. I won't compare Jalebis and glazed donuts. Both are mouthwatering, but are quite different. Donuts come as a 'complete unit', which you can bite through as a mass. But Jalebis, they're like pipes of dough (like spaghetti, but thicker) deep fried into fat. Jalebis are rather crisp when eaten hot. Saffron can be used if the jalebis were deep fried in Ghee (instead of oil), because the Ghee + Saffron combo adds a very pleasant and soothing flavour ("royal" flavour?), making it special. The ghee + saffron combination is widely used in the Mughal cuisine. Drop me a line if you come to India. :)

Ah, now that sounds more like funnel cakes :-)

I just had a plate of dhokla, some rasmalai and two saffron jalebis. I like it when I suddenly feel hungry, given there's something really good to eat. :)

It appears that we may have similar interests. Emailing option is enabled in this post - send me an email and we could catch up some time and eat like pigs and have coffee. :) There were a few other guys from Bangalore and around who were talking of a CP get together. So, we could just do that.

Hrm... Looks fine to me! Make sure you have the latest script installed, and hit Ctrl+F5 for luck. If that doesn't work, send me a screenshot...

Nope, not this weekend - we'll have to give the people a fair amount of notice. Perhaps sometime next month; we'll have a thread here on that. :)
