Hardware questions in the Lounge

Since there is a forum for hardware why hasnt it been pointed out to the poster that he has posted in the wrong forumm accompanied by the usual flaming? If you are going to have rules, at least apply them consistently.

You are free to point this out to whomever. Starting an argument about it is hardly constructive.

Because the questions are rare enough and the forum is a ghost town.

I asked a question on sharepoint forum couple of weeks and I still didn't get an answer. Does that mean I can ask sharepoint question here? Sharepoint forum is the real ghost town here.

A better idea would be to make the observation here that you've asked a question in the SP forum, but that no-one's there to answer it. And you've just done that, so I imagine SP experts will go there, to see what they've been missing, so your question will be answered, and you haven't posted anything that will get you nagged. [edit: but it got you one-voted, apparently. I'll counter that, because asking questions about asking questions is fair go, IMO.]

Come to think of it I haven't seen Jimmy Ropes around for a while, he has always been very positive about SP.

Nobody uses SharePoint because it doesn't really exist. The SharePoint forum is merely a form of entertainment for Chris and the rest of the staff at CP.

I'm entirely not unserious, we don's need the "consistency" required for training McDonalds employees or programming a computer. Also, we are not bound by modern legal system doctrines such as "equality" (which - as has been noted - is the end of fairness) or easy discoverability. I do not disagree with these doctrines, however a place like this allows us to explore other ways of organizing community.
