That is what is known in our house as "The Two Sock Method". You go to bed and put a single sock on the end of the bed. Drink malt whisky until you see two socks. Cured. (Cured as in kipper I suspect, but nonetheless, your cold seems unimportant.)

Dear Dave, May I humbly suggest Toy Story I & II back-to-back, accompanied by hot milk and honey? I am a stern proponent of alcohol consumption in these cases (it doesn't make you better, but it makes it much more fun being ill), but sometimes you catch more mucus with milk and honey. Anyways, speedy recovery mate! //L
