Windows 95 - 98?

Isn't Windows 98 fourteen times worse than Windows 7? Why would you want it?

Since Microsoft no longer gives access to these through MSDN, does anyone know where you can dowload a VM of them off MS? I have an old scanner that will not work with XP or above, but would still like to get it going. Any ideas?

If it's USB I'm not sure the USB pass-through would work in Win 95. I've had problems with many USB devices on even the versions of windows 95 that actually say "with USB support" on the CD (though it's probably more to do with crappy software). So prob best to go with win 98 for this purpose (assuming the VM extensions for USB passthrough are compatible anyway).

If it's USB I'm not sure the USB pass-through would work in Win 95. I've had problems with many USB devices on even the versions of windows 95 that actually say "with USB support" on the CD (though it's probably more to do with crappy software). So prob best to go with win 98 for this purpose (assuming the VM extensions for USB passthrough are compatible anyway).
You're probably best letting Rocky know your advice. I would not go near Win9x with a bargepole! That said, I did need to make a NT4 VM recently. That was straight forward. Getting a service pack for it... Yikes. Luckily some nice CP person emailled it to me! Iain.

Since Microsoft no longer gives access to these through MSDN, does anyone know where you can dowload a VM of them off MS? I have an old scanner that will not work with XP or above, but would still like to get it going. Any ideas?

Step 1: Take old scanner, give to company that recycles this sort of stuff. Step 2: Buy new scanner for $50 (US) Step 3: Save yourself around 10+ man-hours.

Do you have access to TechNet? Even Windows 3.x is available from there, so I'd assume Windows 9x would be too. Depending on how much of the OS you need, see here.

There is even MS-DOS, but not Win 95 or Win 98. I really don't know why...(However it looks like Shog9 does). :)

Got my printer/scanner for $40 + tax at Walmart (or Target) a few weeks ago. They are really cheap these days.
