The book was pretty bad too. Though for some reason, I really enjoyed it as a teenager. Now, I can't imagine why. Marc

    Yeah, I loved the book.

I don't agree with that one. In order to win worst screenplay, it need to have one. I'm pretty sure it didn't; my nippers make up better shti than that when they're playing in the sand.

The only thing in all of Battlefield Earth that had even a glimpse of being good was their commentary on dogs. (Henceforth this piece of trash will be called BF:E) I mean come on, if you aren't going to have any other redeeming qualities, having a robot dry humping Megan Fox's leg is at least humorous. Oh and the gratuitous close up shots of her whenever possible at least made for nice eye candy. BF:E couldn't even distract you from the train wreck. While the ghetto robots made me wanna give myself a home lobotomy, BF:E failed to have anything even resembling rational thought. Ghetto robots would have been an improvement.

That would apply to Hubbard's other obscenity: Scientology.

Everyone is young and stupid; only some of us grow out of it. As bad as BFE was the Mission Earth[^] Dreckalogy was far worse. I can only assume that I finished it once for the same reason people rubberneck at accidents. X|

Revenge of the Fallen had its moments... I could do without the goofy Witwicky family antics entirely (Honestly, Shia LaBeouf really overplays that). Whatshername (The girlfriend) would have been a lot less annoying if she didn't have to play off that. Could do without the GhettoBots... In fact, let's just retcon the previous movie and remove all of Jazz's speaking parts too. While we're at it, strip out Ironhide's parts at the same time "Aww, I just wanted to show him my cannons"... What is he, a soldier or a toddler? Hmm, I haven't said anything good about it yet. Ok, the guy who plays the Sector 7 agent in both movies... Good acting, good comedic timing without being annoying... I forget the actor's name, but he's good. Optimus is pretty much the same as always, right on target. I had my doubts about Jamie Fox and the other soldier guys in the first one, but it works... Keep 'em. Adds a nice element that was lacking in the old series. So yeah... As a fan of the original series and the original movie... The new ones could have been really great... They weren't, but they could have been :) As for Battlefield: Earth... I have two things to say: 1) Created by the author of Dianetics. You know where this is going, so I won't say it. 2) John Travolta = Rasta Klingon in high heels. And that about sums it up. Great choice for the big award.

Hard to say which was the worse film though I think Battlefield Earth sneaks it on being utter shite whereas Transformers was only a bit shite. :-)

You know, I didn't really like it (Battlefield Earth) at first either, but it grows on you after a while. I think it had an interesting concept. You just have to get past John Travolta :)

You actually read it? I can't bring myself to touch anything written by L.Ron, because of a certain group of people who like to harass pedestrians in Grand Central Terminal and Times Square, offering free "stress tests" in return for cult membership... Obviously I won't mention them by name, because I don't want to get sued :)

Oh yeah, Harriers that have been mothballed for fifty years then a bunch of cavemen who don't have the wheel jump in and fly them firing Sidewinders galore.

Especially when you consider that from what I've heard, shooting Sidewinders is easy. Most Harrier fatalities come from taking off and landing.

The book was pretty bad too. Though for some reason, I really enjoyed it as a teenager. Now, I can't imagine why. Marc

This is because the BFE series are targeting the yang readers and from that point of view they are more than perfect - especially the first three of them. The movie from other hand is brown water from the arse/thank you for this expression DD/. :-D

It would have been awesome if she had mentioned her Razzie during her Oscar speech

I read it ( Battlefield Earth and Mission Earth ) before knowing about Hubbard and Scientology. BF:E is a nice sci-fi book, good premise, simplistic story telling, but good subway material. Mission Earth is a bit longish, space-opera with some good ideas and funny plot, but a bit "too much".

                                          Watched code never compiles.
