"Websense." The most dreaded word in the English language, unless you happen tpo be Mordac, The Preventor of Information Services. I feel your pain.

The funny part is that the "Websense" doesn’t helps in any way to improve the working effectiveness/especially for the developers/. The only con for the company is probably in saving some bandwidth. Of course there are people who would spend all their time in the internet if they have this opportunity, but they are subject of completely different measures.

no today, he's just a twit. Can't use the web anymore, i might learn something. Tonight I will drink. Heavily [update] The 'i' should have been an 'a', but apart from that I'm really p_ssed off. Incompetant management who hold back work and posess the same inteligence as CSS during one of her many crack binges should be put up against the wall and shot. I'm looking for a new job and can't wait to quit the nightmare I'm having.

And it is true the opposite: Websense just obstacles developers. :)

My boss is the same way. The number one reason that comes to mind for me is Job security. He makes himself indispensable by being the only one who knows what's going on.

He's convinced himself that it would at least triple the required hours to build something.

Don't tell him that it will quarter the time needed for investigating problems, his little brain might melt.
