Anybody else got the modified Google homepage, with flat logo, flat search box and gradient buttons...? the search box is odd, instead of inset border now its outset.

Mine has a dark-blue top border and light-blue side and bottom borders. Perhaps you're looking at it while hanging upside down?

For me, it looks like that on Windows 7. On everything else, it looks as it did before.

Only thing I've noticed about the Google homepage recently is that the header and links only appear after an OnMouseOver event. I haven't taken the time to try to figure out why they bothered.

Maybe you've been selected for one of their experiements? They do release ideas into the wild, let a couple of thousand of us see and use them and then look at the stats.

I think the idea is that power users who'd only use the keyboard are the kind of people who'd get annoyed by too much screen clutter
