Who buys book from Amazon? I go to a store and put my hands on the actual items to get a feel for them -- and then not wait a week for it to arrive.

I do all the time. If I go to a bookshop they either: a) Don't have what I want (sacrificing range for mountain-high piles of the latest "bestseller") b) Have a copy, but which has been mercilessly thumbed and dog-eared. c) Are more interested in selling me coffee, magazines or "tat". In summary, modern bookshops are a pile of old arse. I long for the days of the independent, specialist, bookshop - and failing that, I wish they'd reanimate Christina Foyle just for the sheer quirkiness.

This one[^] has yet to be released, but I'm sure it'll have a decent Amazon rank when it is :)

I have free 2-day shipping ($4 1-day shipping), and shipping is free for everyone for orders over $25 for most books. I highly recommend Amazon Prime. Like others have mentioned, I have found that books are cheaper on Amazon too. I once bought a book at a bookstore, then found it on Amazon for much cheaper. I bought it on Amazon while I read the copy I already bought (I really wanted to read it), then I returned the first copy I bought to the store when the Amazon copy arrived. And now that they have Kindle for PC, I buy eBooks from them too (quicker than going to the store).

I would go to a store too but they don't carry books that I need/want.

It tells you how to install a little door in the back of your wife's head, to insert a couple of EEPROM chips. Very useful during arguments.
