I followed the prompted upgrade to FF3.6 about 45 minutes ago. It's crashed 8 times since then and I'm currently downloading IE8. Waste of time.

Have to agree - IE8 is a waste of time - try Google Chrome, it works for me!

I've been using Opera for a laawng time, and I have no complaints! Especially, the latest version is very slick.

And do you have any addons that are possibly incompatible with the current version of the browser? Have you tried disabling all the addons and starting the browser again?

The same happened with me with the very latest version of OPERA!! X| Crashed many time, however the the time it didn't crashed it served best among others in terms of Speed. The fastest browser claim seems true when using it. However Crome works really well with compare to others. No crash no speed issues.

Similar things happened with me when I upgraded to FF 3.6. :~ But it automatically got fixed after a few hours. I don't know how that happened. Downloading IE8 is seriously a waste of time. I really hope Microsoft will come up with something good in the next version.

I just reinstalled Windows on my computer and about 50 programs. Out of all of them, Chrome gave me the most trouble... caused my computer to power off instantly during the install (and, no, it didn't finish installing). I think I'll stay away from Chrome for a while to give them a chance to fix that. SQL Server, by the way, gave me the second most amount of trouble. Turns out it can't be installed on a compressed drive, so the install just fails without any clue as to why.

Odd - never had a moments trouble from Chrome (unlike IE8). Didn't like FF for no obvious reason. Opera just looked so hideous when it started up the first time that I just closed it and never went back. Chrome is (on my system) quick, clean, stable and very effective.

My favorite thing about Chrome is the ability to drag tabs between browser windows... IE8 can drag tabs, but not to different Windows. It has it's  and it's  , but I usually use IE8 because it does most the stuff I need it too... it does crash/freeze like crazy though.

Nothing wrong with chrome......99% of all my browsing is with chrome now. The other 1% is when i log into my company Outlook Web Mail, as it is a lot richer in IE.

Always been tempted... I keep saying I'll give FF another chance. I'd been over to Chrome and back once some time ago when Chrome was buggier. At the time the speed trade-off wasn't worth the pain. With Opera on Android being nothing short of awesome (beta 5) I'm keen to give the full blown version a shot.

Just wanted to give it a try (saving some space would be nice, as I split my hard drive into multiple partitions to have backup copies of XP installed... I know, I could use a ghost or VM, but I'm not fancy like that). But I turned it off since SQL Server doesn't like it. Still, compression is supposed to be transparent... perhaps SQL Server should, oh, tell me that the drive shouldn't be compressed and then give me a chance to turn off compression rather than just failing for an unknown reason.

I also like the way you can have an extension for "Display this page in an IE based tab" which means I can keep Flash, Java and debug mode out of my "normal" browser, but they are a click away if I want them.

I've not experienced increased problems with 3.6 compared to 3.5. However, all browsers experience severe problems with some users. I base this conclusion on observing posts to the various forums.

Still has quite a few site problems (not necessarily Opera's fault but an unfortunate fact) and a few serious issues such as not implementing drag and drop properly in text areas like this one.

 BTW - I was referring Chrome not FF. ;P
