Satanical Chip and Snipers?

While using the ID chip is questionable for humans, it would help a great deal if they equiped firearms with it. It would be possible to find any gun in a certain range. Combine this with the ability to identify the type of gun... What do you think? I keep submitting “VB” as a Priority-1 bug, but apparently no one here knows how to fix it. Nick Hodapp, Semicolon

I don´t think so... this would allow bandits to avoid places where they use guns, or help then to identify which type of gun they use to protect a bank or prison so that they can use a grater firepower. Not if they made it an integral part of the weapon. Seesm to me that they could somehow tag the slug somehow (chemical signature) that would allow law enforcement to connect the bullet with where it was purchased, and then with who purchased it.

For a moment, I thought you meant putting firearms on the id chip and implanting it into the human. Seriously though, anybody who had the guts to use the gun for illegal use would just get in hold of somebody with the knowledge to be able to remove the chip. Unless of course, the chip had the ability to detect such an ocurrence, which would be cool.

One problem with this is that it is possible to make your own bullets. My brother-in-law does it in his garage by melting down the lead (not a smart thing to do as the fumes are toxic) and forming it in molds. This is perfectly legal (in US) and common. Todd

Yeah, the chip has built in C4 and if cut from its power supply explodes destroying the gun and the person tampering with it! Just make sure you keep the battery topped up! Roger Allen Sonork 100.10016 I have a terminal disease. Its called life!

Who the Fuc* would let anyone put a chip into themselves? Honestly, who? I sure wouldn't, what would it accomplish? Nothing realy, if a person wants to use a weapon illegaly they will somehow find a way to use the weapon illegaly. The only thing that this might accomplish is control of the human race. Reminds me of a certin book writen by a one Blair...it was set in the 80s...

Hmmmm never gave that a thought before... I guess it would rule out the cooper jacketed bullets atleast.

What would stop someone from removing the chip from the gun? Jon Sagara The world is my burrito.

I dont like the idea. I'm an avid hunter and aside from my rifles and shotguns I have a few sidearms. I would not like the idea of anyone being able to sit in front of my home and determine just how armed I am. The way I see it, if law enforcement created (or posessed the technology) then it would be a very short thereafter that the criminal element aquired the same technology. Ted Nugent once said (or maybe he said it more than once): "An armed society is a polite society". --------------------------------------------- Be good! But if you can't be good, at least be good at it and try not to get any on ya! -mjf

Unfortunately it goes back to everything that is and will be existence… If man creates it, man can destroy it. Of course the man can easily be substituted with women, and destroy can be substituted with alter or hack. So anything that can be put into a gun to track it, can easily be removed.. etc.

Can't you gun control types figure it out. If this came to pass what would stop the criminal from simply stealing a gun from some poor innocent person. And exactly what good does it do to know the type of gun - where it was purchased - or anything else about it if it is no longer in the hands of the person who purchased it. When it becomes a crime to have a gun - only criminals will have them- and then we are all up shit creek without a rowboat - let alone a paddle. Who cares who owned the gun? The point is that you can locate it when you can read the information. And by knowing the type you may exclude signals of types you dont want to track. I keep submitting “VB” as a Priority-1 bug, but apparently no one here knows how to fix it. Nick Hodapp, Semicolon
