If you're worried about liberty in the States, then you should be trying to unite people, and debate people in order to try to persuade them into supporting the cause we have in common. I ditched my car when I moved here, so I'm pretty much reliant on mass transit. Don't want to start a relationship with someone if I can't easily visit them. I just don't like the sound of "Hey, want to meet up this weekend? Great, when can you pick me up from the bus stop?" You figure in a city this large, I'd have found someone by now... Too true... It's depressing, really... Knowing that there are thousands and thousands of people right around you, but they're all strangers. Being alone in a crowd is worse than being alone by yourself. I grew up in the suburbs, where it wasn't a "small town" by any stretch, but where you'd often run into people you know just by coincidence... Doesn't happen much in Manhattan. At least not for me.
