If you replace Republicans with 'Fox News' it's dead on. Not sure about all republicans, but I'm rather sure fox actually used all of the phrases attributed to the republicans.

Does anyone actually believe anything they see on Fox News? I mean, they're known for being pretty much THE most sensationalized news source out there...

True... They're all biased, one way or another. I try to get my news from aggregation sites, and if I think the issue is actually important, I try to find it on several different news sites... Can't get all of your information from one source, but as long as the sources are biased differently, you can just add it all up.

I understand your thoughts, and it's pretty logical, however I don't entirely agree. Usually when it comes to personal freedom, you must dive into sites that are not mainstream, along with the mainstream, to get a better picture of what the situation really is. CNN, ABC, NBC, CBS, these are "liberal" mainstreams, while you have Fox as the sole "conservative" mainstream. But these really add up to "progressive" media sources. Then, you have the more freedom-based news sources, the underground sources, independent news. You never hear of those, really, and they're downplayed for the fact that they are not mainstream. Mix these all together, and you really do have a non-biased outlook and can draw conclusions for yourself.

I'm not going to speak for or against the accuracy of this, but I found it in a Slashdot comment, and got a bit of a chuckle out of it... The guy who posted it claims he stole it from Digg, so it's probably complete garbage... Still kinda funny...

Give us a majority and we'll do it better" Democrats: "Done, you have majority of both houses" 12 years later, health care is irrefutably worse in every respect for every single person in the United States Democrats: "We need health care reform" Republicans: "Liberal fascists! I hope you're not suggesting sites like Infowars and Prisonplanet, because even if you added up every mainstream news source in the country, you wouldn't equal half of the spin Alex Jones applies. Lately, though, I've gotten kind of sick of most mainstream news... I read Slashdot.org for the geek stuff and the occasional politics (The comments are more telling than the articles), and Gothamist.com for more local stuff.

No, I don't. I haven't been to that site for at least a year. (Because it's really just the same site.) I'm talking about real independent media. therealnews.com democracynow.org npr (it's not bad) but there's a lot more than that, but those are just suggestions. shows like Stossel are definitely libertarian. Glenn Beck is a joke, don't bother with him. lol But then there's Freedom Watch, hosted by the Judge. yes, it's Fox, but it's libertarian, not neo-con. Same with Stossel.

Heh, just tried to hit the first one, and got blocked by the filter for "Streaming Media"... The second one looks interesting, though the bias is pretty obvious. The only "news" I watch on TV, though, is when I have Comedy Central going in the background, and Jon Stewart or Stephen Colbert come on :)

His brain got blown out the right side. Jackie was on his left. Lincoln got some really good health care. The Surgeon General went sticking a probe into his brain looking for the bullet. Ended up pithing him. It was not state of the art at the time. Probably better all around, as opposed to have a mentally damaged ex-president around. See what a problem Carter has been?

Great. Now I'm picturing an old wartime Britain living room with Eddie Izzard perched on a sidetable, announcing the news.
